Steeped: A Big Sur Elixir of Sulfur and Sage by Brita Ostrom

We are proud to feature Steeped: A Big Sur Elixir of Sulphur and Sage by our legacy teacher and massage school leader, Brita Ostrom.

Her memoir contains her transformative experiences in the counterculture scene of the late 1960s in San Francisco and while at Esalen Institute. This wonderful book details shifts in philosophy, self-discovery, alternative lifestyles and the hippie movement.

Brita Ostrom has led massage and somatic workshops at Esalen and internationally for more than 40 years. She is a founding member of the Esalen Massage School, practices Gestalt awareness work, and participated in Esalen’s two-year somatic education program. She is also a licensed psychotherapist.
